Co-Founder and Vice President

In 2006, I was an independent consultant for the first time. Funcom had laid off all of its marketing staff so the former VP of Marketing and I paired up to offer consulting services to European game developers.
During that time, I also connected with an independent contract game developer, Billy Cain. We had met through mutual friends and realized that there was a big problem within the gaming industry that was hurting product development: marketing and development teams often viewed each other as enemies.

We had met through mutual friends and realized that there was a big problem within the gaming industry that was hurting product development: marketing and development teams often viewed each other as enemies.

Because I was on the marketing side and Billy was on the development side, we teamed up and created a presentation for the annual Game Developers Conference that takes place in San Jose, California. We were thrilled when our presentation was approved. We focused on ways that these teams could better understand each other and work better together. It was light hearted in its approch but very serious in its implications of getting companies on the same page. I was proud to be the first marketing person to speak at this important gaming development conference. This is also where Sony Online recruited me to work for them because they were impressed with my talk and with the work I had done on Anarchy Online.
